Figuring out your personal finances can be a challenge — especially when you’re getting advice that doesn’t reflect your personal experience. For many Canadians, especially in Toronto, getting the help you need when you belong to a diverse community isn't always straightforward.
The solution? Finding someone that shares your lived experience, so you can get the trusted support you need.
That’s why across Canada, TD Regional Managers are working to make sure more people can speak to someone who really gets them — not just financially, but culturally too — to give you confidence through connection.
For Black Canadians, the TD Black Customer Experience Team does just that.
Launched in 2021 as part of TD’s Black Customer Experience Strategy, the Black Customer Experience Team offers a unique perspective and expertise that combines TD’s trusted advice from a source that feels authentic.
The team was established with the understanding that representation makes a big difference in banking.
For Black Canadians looking to embark on a journey of financial success, having expert guidance along the way from a banking advisor that belongs to the same community as you could help customers make confident financial decisions that better reflect their own personal situations.
Latanya Monteith Housen is one of TD’s Regional Managers of Black Community Business Development, and knows just how important it can be for Black Canadians to get financial advice from someone who can appreciate their unique needs.
“At TD, we believe in the value of shared experience and community,” says Monteith Housen.
“We understand that when our customers get advice that resonates with them, it's not just one person that thrives, but their families and neighbourhoods too. Our goal is to help build pathways to financial success for everyone we serve.”
Along with other TD Regional Managers, Monteith Housen aims to create impact for her customers and affect positive change in the communities they are a part of.
