Raptors fans have the chance to be a part of music video history in Toronto

When it comes to Canadian legends in basketball, music, and arts, Toronto is largely responsible for producing map-making geniuses.

From teams like the Toronto Raptors to artists like Director X, there's no shortage of talent and culture coming out of YYZ. To celebrate the city's rich basketball, music, and arts culture — and the people who make it so special — the Toronto Raptors are hosting a special series of games that will give fans the chance of a lifetime.

GOAT Night

GOAT Night — that's Greatest of All Toronto — is set to honour community icons who've helped define Toronto's unique identity.

As for the GOAT of the night, none other than Toronto-born Director X will be the guest of honour. As a renowned music video, commercial, and film director, if X's name doesn’t ring a bell, his credentials across decades of music and culture certainly will.

This Canadian visionary has received a star on Canada's Walk of Fame, earned a Grammy nomination, and won a Juno Award for a range of music videos that include Nelly's Hot in Herre, Drake's Hotline Bling, and Rihanna's Work.

Other genre-defining artists on his CV include Usher, Ariana Grande, and Justin Bieber. So, yeah — he's kind of a legend, and an incredible example of what it means to represent Toronto with pride.

Where art & basketball intersect

Passionate about basketball and a dedicated, lifelong Raptors fan, Director X is bringing something extra special to the Jan. 21 GOAT Night.

To celebrate the intersection of art and basketball, Raptors fans who attend this game will have the unique opportunity to be part of a music video set designed by the legend himself.

Outside of Section 111 lies an activation where fans can step inside a Director X-designed music video set. Will it look like Sean Paul's Temperature video? Or maybe something more along the lines of Usher's Yeah!? Grab a ticket and find out!

Digital copies of the content captured at the video set will be available for fans, and the compiled footage will be artfully produced into a Raptors music video that will premier on a future GOAT Night.
