M'Zaar Restaurant is a Lebanese eatery "with a twist" on the Yonge strip in the downtown core that serves up fresh shawarma (including a Mexican-ized version with rice and cheese), falafel (it claims to have a chicken version I was curious to try, but they didn't have any when I was there - perhaps you will have more luck) and platters that come with rice, seasoned potatoes, fattoush salad and hummus dip. Lunch specials between 11am and 3pm are a good deal at $8.49, and include a sandwich, soup, salad, seasoned potatoes and a drink.
