Maji Curry's Annex location is the Japanese curry chain's first Canadian outpost. 

Founder Ken Takaji was inspired by his childhood love of curry, and after travelling and tasting unique spices across the globe, he decided to open a multi-culturally inspired curry shop.

In 2018, Maji Curry competed in the Japanese curry contest Kanda Curry Championships in Kanda, Jimbocho.  

After 42,000 people tasted all participating curries, Maji was announced the winner - only seven months after their initial opening. 

With locations in Singapore, Thailand, and Los Angeles to just name a few, the restaurant brand aims to become an entirely global franchise.

They state that they're looking to have 250 stores worldwide by 2030!
