A new condo tower rising above King Street West is primed to be one of Toronto's next Instagrammable landmarks.
The first of two towers in the massive Forma development, a joint venture between Great Gulf, Dream Unlimited and Westdale Properties, is now making its impact felt at 266 King Street West.
After over a decade of planning, the first high-rise project in Toronto from locally born starchitect Frank Gehry is finally about to break into the downtown skyline.

Work on Forma officially kicked off back in summer 2023 with a ceremonial ground breaking ahead of shoring and excavation for the complex's first phase, 73-storey east tower.

On the heels of excavation and subsequent construction of the tower's underground levels, Forma began its ascent above King Street West in late 2024, and has since made substantial progress.

Forma's east tower has since ascended nine levels above King Street West, and the speed of forming is only accelerating as crews get into the swing of forming repeating floorplates for the main tower section.

The east skyscraper soon to join the local skyline will top out at a height of almost 263 metres, roughly equal in stature to some of the taller buildings in the nearby Financial District.

However, it will be the forthcoming west tower planned just across Ed Mirvish Way that will really shake up the balance of the city skyline, bringing one of the tallest buildings in Canada to the block in the years to come.

This second tower will rise 84 storeys and reach a staggering height of 308 metres tall, which is taller than any completed building in Canada — however, not quite tall enough to match the country's future tallest, already under construction and quickly rising to 106 storeys at 1 Yonge Street.
