toronto anniversary party nathan phillips square

Toronto is throwing a huge outdoor party to mark major milestone next month

Toronto is turning Nathan Phillips Square into a giant birthday party as the city celebrates its 192nd anniversary.

The City of Toronto's 192nd Anniversary Festival will take place next month, featuring a DJ Skate Party presented by Mirvish Productions. Guests are encouraged to dress up as characters from Mirvish's beloved shows and hit the ice for some festive skating.

Another major highlight is the Toronto Made Market, a 6,000-square-foot vendor space celebrating Toronto entrepreneurs and featuring over 100 local businesses.

Of course, no outdoor festival is complete without food stalls, and this event is no exception. Organizers promise a wide selection of vendors offering both local favourites and international cuisines for attendees to enjoy throughout the day.

The event is open to all ages, however, there will be a Glow Bar for guests aged 19+ to savour local brews at the fully liquor-licensed bar.

No birthday is complete without a grand finale. Guests will be treated to a dazzling fireworks display at 9:00 p.m. to cap off festivities.

Toronto was officially incorporated as a city in 1834 and was declared the capital of the province of Ontario in 1867 during Canadian Confederation. Since then, it has grown into Canada's most populous city and a prominent national destination, known for its diversity, economic growth, and vibrant tourism scene.

The City of Toronto's 192nd Anniversary Festival will take place on Mar. 7 from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Nathan Phillips Square, located at 100 Queen St. W.
