Beloved free concert series returning to Toronto later this month

Lunchtime plans are officially covered as the free daytime concert series, Sound Break, returns to Toronto later this month. 

TO Live's weekly series spotlights both established and emerging local artists, bringing a wide range of genres to Toronto audiences. The free concerts will span everything from indie pop and rap to R&B andIndigenous music.

Sound Break will take place every Thursday at noon, with 45-minute concerts alternating between Meridian Arts Centre and St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts.

The complete Sound Break schedule is as follows:

  • Feb. 19: Kazdoura (Arabic fusion/global/psychedelic) at Meridian Arts
  • Feb. 26: Luke Welch (classical) at St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts
  • Mar. 5: Neda Mohamadpour & Mehdi Rostami (contemporary Persian/folk/fusion) at Meridian Arts Centre
  • Mar. 12: Nia Nadurata (indie pop/alt pop) at St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts
  • Mar. 19: Nimkii (traditional/Pow Wow) at Meridian Arts Centre
  • Mar. 26: Kubla (soul/R&B) at St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts
  • Apr. 2: Rhyan Douglas (folk-soul/R&B) at Meridian Arts Centre
  • Apr. 9: Chynna Lewis (pop/R&B) at St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts
  • Apr. 16: Ankur Sinha (alternative/pop) at Meridian Arts Centre
  • Apr. 23: Thelonious (rap) at St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts
  • Apr. 30: Nat Beja Trio (Romani jazz) at Meridian Arts Centre

Bring your lunch, a coffee, and your work bestie, and catch one — or many — of these concerts from Feb. 19 to Apr. 30.

Sound Break will take place at Meridian Arts Centre, located at 5040 Yonge St., and St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, located at 27 Front St. E.
