Toronto's Aga Khan Museum is getting a new look with its upcoming Light Up the Dark outdoor projection show, launching on Dec. 27.
Crafted by Pritzker Prize–winning architect Fumihiko Maki and home to more than 1,200 works, the museum will spotlight current students and alumni from the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) University through this annual attraction.
Current and former students from OCAD's Experimental Animation program will showcase their work as projections cast across the museum's front facade. A variety of animations will be featured, using the museum's exterior as a canvas throughout the night.
The three-day event will also include live performances by local musician Meep Moop, Panamanian artist Chimbongo, and guitarist Siddharth Khanna. The Aga Khan Museum is also hosting a variety of workshops for its patrons over the span of these three days; the full schedule is available on the museum's official website.
Light Up the Dark runs from Dec. 27 to Dec. 29, and to mark the occasion, the museum will extend its gallery hours from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The attraction is free to attend and includes complimentary admission to the Museum Collections Gallery. Visitors can also explore the museum's latest exhibition, As the Sun Appears from Beyond, for just $10 during Light Up the Dark.
Light Up the Dark will be held at the Aga Khan Museum, located at 77 Wynford Dr.
