Airline hiring in Toronto with benefits like tax-free salaries and free housing

Emirates Airlines is looking for its next crop of cabin crew members and is bringing its worldwide job fair to Toronto for a single-day hiring event this month, offering locals the chance to cash in on some major perks the airline offers its staff.

The first thing many think of when they think of "cabin crew" is travel perks, and although that's a reasonable pull in its own right, Emirates hiring events tend to draw crowds for the airline's well-known benefits.

In addition to discounted airfare, meal allowances during layovers, and transportation to and from the airport on overnight stays — standard benefits across most airlines — Emirates, recently named the world's "Best Long Haul Airline" at the Telegraph Travel Awards, also offers a tax-free salary.

This advantage stems from the airline's home base in the United Arab Emirates, where there is no personal income tax, so even its Canadian employees are exempt.

And, for those wondering about accommodation while working for an international airline, Emirates has that covered too.

Cabin crew members receive fully furnished shared housing, and the company's accommodation policy allows up to two family members to visit and stay in the employee's quarters for up to 30 consecutive days per visit.

Given today's job market and the rising cost of living in Toronto, hiring events like these have the potential to attract crowds of applicants eager to see the world, also leaving behind everyday financial stresses like rent payments and taxes.

Emirates is hosting one-day job fairs in three Canadian cities — Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver — with the Toronto event happening on Nov. 23 at 9 a.m. Additional details are available on the airline's website.

The Toronto stop for this job fair takes place at Novotel Toronto Centre, located at 45 The Esplanade.
