Canada's Wonderland announces big change for one of its most popular experiences

Something evil is coming to Canada's Wonderland this fall, and it'll be up to you to contain it.

Just in time for its 20th season, Halloween Haunt at Canada's Wonderland is debuting a new interactive experience based on the chilling universe of The Conjuring film series.

The SCREAMium experience, which takes place on select nights between Sept. 27 and Nov. 1, invites you to enter the nightmare of The Conjuring universe, coming face-to-face with cursed artifacts and petrifying entities like The Nun, The Crooked Man and The Ferryman as you race to restore order and lock the Annabelle doll back in her secure box.

With state-of-the-art effects and a series of terrifying interactive challenges, the 20-minute thrill is set to be just as frightening as the films are on-screen.

As a premium experience, it requires a separate ticket purchase, which ranges between $15 and $25 depending on the day you visit.

The rest of Halloween Haunt will feature six haunted mazes, seven immersive scare zones and, of course, its signature night rides.

And, debuting for the first time this upcoming season, Halloween Haunt will not require a separate ticket for entry, meaning that a single fall admission will provide you with both daytime and nighttime park access, including other events like Camp Spooky and Oktoberfest.

As part of the new changes, haunted mazes will only be accessible to visitors with the purchase of a Haunted Attraction Pass — but if you're only seeking night rides, scare zones, and live entertainment, all you'll need is the regular park admission.

The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is not included with the regular admission or Haunted Attractions Pass, and requires an extra charge.

The amusement park has already started looking for experienced actors and stunt specialists to join its team for the new experience, too. Those selected will have the opportunity to collaborate with a team of talented FX artists, scare specialists, and horror designers to bring the terrifying film series to life with a spine-tingling new gig.

Although the first round of auditions has passed, a second round is being hosted on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Vaughan, Ontario amusement park.

Canada's Wonderland offers a gold season pass (which includes Halloween Haunt and Winterfest) for $99, plus processing fees and taxes. Daily tickets start at $45 (plus fees and tax).
