Huge three-day outdoor dance party returns to Toronto this summer

If you're looking for a reason to get outside this summer and move your body, this three-day celebration of all things dance and music should be on your radar.

One of Toronto's largest outdoor multicultural dance and community celebrations, Dance on Yonge, is coming back to Mel Lastman Square this July. The three-day festival is jam-packed with live performances, cultural showcases, and a vibrant food and retail market featuring global street eats and local vendors.

There are several competitions throughout the festival, including the Canada K-Pop Championship on Friday, July 11, the All-Star Dance Competition on Saturday, July 12, as well as the Star Dance Centre Summer Showcase on Sunday, July 13.

Admission is completely free, so just bring your energy and some really comfortable dancing shoes. If you want to compete, registration for the competitions is $35 per person, but prizes range from $200 for third place to $1,000 for first place.

Dance on Yonge takes place at Mel Lastman Square on July 11 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., July 12 from 12 p.m. to 11 p.m., and July 13 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
