The best new additions for Doors Open Toronto 2025

Doors Open Toronto returns this month, and the 2025 edition of the event is set to include some exciting new spots to explore.

If you've ever caught yourself strolling the city and daydreaming about what secrets its thousands of buildings hold, you're in luck. Doors Open, the city's annual festival that allows rare glimpses into buildings, properties and areas not typically open to the public, is coming back this month.

For a full weekend on May 24 and 25, the festival will take over more than 150 places in the city, giving you the chance to explore them for free.

Over the weekend, you'll be able to explore buildings in the city and restricted areas not typically open to the public, including the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Toronto City Hall and blogTO's own home base, The Zoomerplex, as well as getting free entry into various museums like the Aga Khan, MOCA and the Bata Shoe Museum.

This year, the Don Jail and Old City Hall are also making a comeback after a six-year hiatus, but those aren't the only fresh additions making things extra exciting for Doors Open 2025.

On top of the number of old favourites that have made their way on the list for 2025, there are also several new additions joining the list for the first time ever this year that you can check out. Here are some of the most exciting ones.

TRCA Head Office

Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is unveiling its brand-new headquarters in North York with a cutting-edge, sustainable design.

With mass timber construction, an Open Loop Geothermal heating/cooling system and minimal use of concrete, the building produces such low greenhouse gas emissions that the reduction is equivalent to taking roughly 240 cars off the road for the year.

St. Lawrence Market North

The long-awaited new home of St. Lawrence Market's Saturday Farmers' Market has finally opened for business, but you can get an even deeper look during Doors Open, when the market building will be open both during the Farmer's Market on Saturday and during its downtime on Sunday.

Rosedale United Church

A shining emblem of Gothic architecture in Rosedale, this breathtaking church is putting its stunning vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows and impressive acoustics on display for all to see.

It may go without saying, but it opens late on the Sunday of the festival.

YZD Experience Centre

The former airport-turned-cultural and arts hub that is YZD has been drawing plenty of attention for various reasons in the past few years (soon, it'll be for Rogers Stadium), but, for Doors Open, you can check out its newly-minted Experience Centre, which gives an impressive overview of the $30 million transformation of the area.

Ubisoft Toronto

Ever wonder where some of your favourite video games are dreamt up and created? This year at Doors Open, the curtain is getting peeled back on the place that made games like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry possible.

It's just an added bonus that it happens to be inside a 1922 industrial building built-turned-state-of-the-art motion capture studio.
