Toronto rare book sale

Toronto Reference Library is having a rare book sale with items as low as $2

If you're a major bookworm living in the GTA, be sure not to miss the upcoming 'Treasure Sale' in Beeton Hall at the Toronto Reference Library this weekend.

Hosted by the Friends of Toronto Public Library, the annual sale caters to a crowd that craves a first edition or a rare, signed manuscript. For those who aren’t looking to break the bank, collectible items will be listed at prices as low as $2.00.

The sale also promises those who show up a vast array to look through, with the total number of books reaching into the thousands.

The rare book sale says all proceeds from the event will go directly to support library programs, such as the Young Voices Magazine. The publication allows young Toronto creatives to have their art or written work published in both online and in physical print.

Another critical program provided by the library services, and funded by the book sale, is the STEAM Club. The after-school program allows children to explore all things science, math & technology related. The program is free for children 6-12 and no registration is needed.

The event will stretch between September 19th to the 21st, with the first day requiring a $3 dollar admission, however the last two days will be free for everyone.

Thursday’s book fair will occur between the hours of 9:30 a.m. - 7 p.m., Friday will go from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m., and Saturday will start at 9 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.

The Toronto Reference Library is near Yonge and Bloor at 789 Yonge St.
