Daytrotter: Young Rival
Hamilton, Ontario's Young Rival stopped by The Horseshack studios to record a session for Daytrotter, which turned out quite nicely for the indie rock trio and gives fans, who have been hungry for more since last years self-titled LP, something new to sink their teeth into. [DOWNLOAD]

BlogTO Indie Exclusive: Ryan Warner - "Officer"
I've featured a lot of talented artists for BlogTO's Indie Exclusive, but this week's artist may be my favourite to date. Ryan Warner, along with his backing band The Moonlight Ride, have taken that modern delta blues sound, mixed it with some rock, and tied it together with some dark lyrical imagery that is comparable to Nick Cave, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, and even a little Tom Waits. His album, simply titled Ryan Warner, took a minimalist approach to the recording process and boasts no edits or overdubs, just a raw and captivating performance by two guitars, drums, and one talented singer-songwriter. Ryan Warner is playing a pair of shows with the equally talented, Old Crowns, headlining in their respective hometowns of Ottawa and Toronto this weekend. Saturday, February 12 is when you can catch them at Rancho Relaxo (300 College St), but until then, check out Ryan's track "Officer" available exclusively through BlogTO for free download.
