Snowblink - "Ambergris"
Snowblink are set to release their debut LP in Canada and the US on February 15, with a in-store session at Soundscapes on March 3 followed by a record release show at The Music Gallery on March 5. This band has had a lot of buzz considering they haven't officially released an album, even garnering a spot on Daytrotter's best of 2010 list, and Chromewaves was nice enough to post their track "Ambergris" for your listening enjoyment.

The Barettas - "Touche"
If you like the above video from The Barettas, you can also download the title track off their debut 7" for free off the group's Bandcamp. This all female, pop-rock throwback trio from Hamilton, Ontario definitely impressed me with this effort and I look forward to hearing more as soon as possible. [MP3]

BlogTO Indie Exclusive: Elk - "Sheldon"
This week's Indie Exclusive comes from Toronto/Niagara four-piece, Elk, who have recently been making a run in the city with shows at Lee's Palace and the legendary Horseshoe Tavern. Their new record is due out in late February or early March via St. Catharines indie label Indoorshoes (Waterbodies, Howler) and promises to continue their success in 2011. "Sheldon" emphasizes the band's killer grooves and unorthodox (in a good way) vocal harmonies that remind me of a modernized indie rock version of the Kinks. [MP3]
