Rising star Chase Infiniti on what she loves most about Toronto

Chase Infiniti may not be a household name just yet, but the Golden Globe–nominated actress is quickly gaining recognition, especially here in Toronto.

The Indianapolis-born, Chicago-raised actress doesn't have a long resume. In fact, this year's Oscar winner for Best Picture, One Battle After Another, was her first feature film.

Since then, Infiniti has been steadily booking ambitious projects, including the highly anticipated spin-off of The Handmaid's Tale, called The Testaments, which filmed right here in the city.

"The people in Toronto are so kind," Infiniti tells blogTO. "I had never been here before, and they really welcomed us all with open arms."

Like its predecessor, the new series, now streaming on Disney+, was shot in Toronto and in nearby regions, including Oshawa and Hamilton. For the American actor, working with a Canadian cast and crew on The Testaments was, as she puts it, "a gift."

"I really do love it here!" she exclaims. Throughout the press tour promoting her new show, she's been gushing about Toronto's vibrant food scene and accessible transit, too.

Fun fact: her distinctive name has a pop culture origin story. According to People, the actor is named after Nicole Kidman's character, Chase Meridian, in Batman Forever, as well as Buzz Lightyear's iconic phrase from Toy Story: "to infinity and beyond."
