A Japanese home and lifestyle brand known for its sustainable, repurposed, and one-of-a-kind designs has opened its first North American storefront in Toronto.
PUEBCO, based in Tokyo, has gained recognition for its sustainable design ethos in the homeware and fashion world, with its products appearing at popular retailers like Urban Outfitters in the past.
The brand was first founded in 2007 and has since grown a loyal following for its utilitarian aesthetic and purposeful craftsmanship. As part of its design philosophy, PUEBCO transforms discarded industrial materials and vintage objects into everyday functional items.
It's a one-stop shop for everything from home textiles to apparel, fragrances to bags, and candles to kitchenware. Many of its products are also on the affordable end — bags, for example, range from $18 to $148 for a larger barrel style.
To celebrate the opening of its first Canadian outpost, the brand is hosting an official launch party on Sept. 24 between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. The event is set to feature a curated selection of PUEBCO's signature product line, and reservations can be made online.
PUEBCO is located at 640 Dufferin St.
