Canadian retail giant denies rumours of dirt-cheap buy-direct suppliers in China

Lululemon has responded to viral videos alleging that certain Chinese suppliers are selling its products at steep discounts.

Recently, videos have appeared on social media claiming that customers can purchase heavily discounted items directly from the manufacturers.

In one popular video, TikTok user @luunasourcingchina, who claims to be an expert in factory sourcing in China, shares that factories Xiang Long Clothing and Hung Qisun Clothing are suppliers for lululemon, Fila, and Under Armour.

"I guess most of you know the price of lululemon or other big brands — they sell you a legging pants for up to $100, and guess what? Here in these two factories, you can get them for around five to six bucks. Crazy!" she states.

She then claims that the material and craftsmanship are essentially the same "because they all come from the same production line."

Similar videos have appeared online, with people claiming they can also help others purchase products directly from suppliers for a fraction of the cost.

These posts have resulted in reaction videos where TikTokers joke about buying leggings for the entire family "from Chinese warehouses, all under $20."

A company spokesperson told usin an email that lululemon doesn't work with any of the manufacturers identified in the online videos.

"We urge consumers to be aware of potentially counterfeit products and misinformation," they stated.

They also provided a list of current suppliers, which includes several manufacturers in countries like China, the U.S., Vietnam, Jordan, Peru, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Cambodia, Korea, and the Philippines.

"Additionally, authentic lululemon products are only available for purchase at our lululemon store locations, registered lululemon e-commerce sites, and select authorized and specialty stores," they stated. "A list of official lululemon e-commerce sites can be found online."
