Toronto gets a barber shop in a shipping container

If there's two things Toronto has done well in recent years it's barber shops and shipping containers. Now, the two have come together in the form of Toronto's first barber shop in a shipping container - surprisingly, not a world first.

The aptly named Off the Grid barber shop is now open for business outside Scadding Court in the Market 707 complex near Bathurst and Dundas West. It has three chairs which get rented out to a rotating crew of local barbers eager to practice their craft among some of Toronto's best poutine and Filipino street eats.

Barbers rent chairs on a daily or weekly basis so you never know who you're going to get. The barber shop doesn't have any web presence at the moment but hours of operation currently run from 10am to 8pm six days a week.

Will you get your hair cut in a shipping container this summer? Let us know in the comments.
