This Week in Fashion: Ron White Shoe Drive, A Conversation With Edith Head, Total Wedding Show

This Week in Fashion rounds up the week's style news, store openings and closings, pop-up shops, sales and upcoming fashion and design events in Toronto. Find it here every Wednesday morning.

NEWS

Last week, Ron White Foundation launched the 18th year of Canada's largest shoe drive. Until February 9, follow the footsteps of celebrity participants - including Rachel McAdams and David Spade - by donating your gently worn winter footwear at any Ron White location for good karma and a $25 credit towards a future purchase. This year, the men's, women's, and children's shoes will be distributed to charities Dress for Success, Streethealth, Halton Women's Place, New Circles, and Ve'ahavta.

Yorkdale Shopping Centre (3401 Dufferin St) just keeps getting swankier. Earlier this week, Prada opened a 3,000 square foot boutique inside Holt Renfrew - right next to the department store's other luxury brands Chanel, Gucci, Dior, and Louis Vuitton.

EVENTS

A Conversation with Edith Head, a one-woman play by Paddy Calistro and Susan Claassen, is playing in Toronto this weekend (January 17 - 19) at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre (12 Alexander St). Delve into the life of Hollywood's legendary costume designer, Edith Head, who famously dressed Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Elizabeth Taylor. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased online.

To any and all future brides: there's no need to become a bridezilla when The Total Wedding Show is just around the corner! This weekend (January 17 - 19), RE/MAX is presenting their 25th annual bazaar of 350 exhibitors, fashion shows, and an on-site gown sale by Sophie's Gown Shoppe. Find everything you need for your special day for $15 admission at The International Centre (6900 Airport Rd) in Mississauga.
