This Week in Fashion: Massimo Dutti opens at the Eaton Centre, Untitled Banner fall collection, Naked & Famous x IDC, Chloé Comme Parris studio sale

NEWS

Spanish retailer Massimo Dutti is kicking off three new North American locations in New York, Washington D.C. and Toronto. Opening tomorrow (August 30th) at the Eaton Centre, the store will offer both closet essentials and trend clothing for men, women, and children priced a smidge higher than its sister company Zara. The overall aesthetic of the brand is sophisticated and tailored - think Parisian chic for little girls and boys, and men dressed like Ed Westwick in Gossip Girl. I'm definitely not complaining.

Toronto's own Guataca Music Wear- self-proclaimed as the hippest and most socially responsible music-wear clothing brand - offers a portion of proceeds to MusiCounts in hopes to give children across the nation access to music programs. Just recently, they've released two new designs with a hip-hop theme, featuring sweet white-on-black printed turntables. Find the full collection here.

EVENTS/PARTIES

Untitled Banner, a clothing company based in Vienna, is launching their fall collection right here in Toronto tomorrow night (August 30th). Crown and Tiger (414 College St) will be littered with drinks, music, models, and of course the brand's vulgar and mildly offensive printed t-shirts from 9 pm onwards. RSVP here.

On Saturday (September 1st), dutil. (704 Queen St W) is presenting the launch of the International Design Collective (IDC), an ongoing joint-design project, with their first collaboration: a limited edition collection of Naked & Famous denim. The 50 pairs will each be numbered and signed with a special Buffalo hide patch. The launch party will be carrying the jeans, along with beer provided by Flying Monkeys Craft Brewery from noon until 7 pm. Find out more here.

SALES

As the temperature begins to drop and drunken college students litter the streets for frosh, the end of summer is ACTUALLY upon us. To keep your mind off said horrors, ChloĂŠ Comme Parris is having their studio sale, running from yesterday (August 28th) until tomorrow (August 30th). Visit 24 Ryerson Ave, unit 210 from noon until 7 pm, cash and cheques in hand for an additional 15% off on markdowns, plus dibs on the new fall collection! For inquiries, contact info@chloecommeparris.ca

The Levi's and Dockers Labour Day warehouse sale (6900 Airport Road, Hall 6) is back and ready for action, running for the long weekend (August 30th to September 3rd). Sift through the racks of jeans, t-shirts, sweaters, jackets, whatever, priced at the lowest of low just in time for the end of summer aka back to school/reality. Find out more here.
