This Week in Fashion: The Gala of Light, The Sparkle Project celebrates prom, The North Face has a sample sale, Bicyclette's anniversary

Gala of Light Tickets For Sale
The Gala of Light, in support of Street Haven at the Crossroads, will be held on March 29 and tickets are on sale here. Street Haven at the Crossroads is a unique multi-program agency including medical services, addiction services, a learning centre, and recreational activities that support homeless women in downtown Toronto. Sarah Taylor will host the evening, which will feature a silent auction, bites to nosh on, and lots of other indulgences in the name of women who have almost nothing.

The Sparkle Project Celebrates Prom
Every girl deserves to get her underage glam on at prom. Unfortunately the high costs associated with buying a dress, shoes, and accessories can be a bigger-than-last-minute-acne problem for underprivileged students. Erin Mills Town Centre is asking the community and its retailers to donate current, gently-used dresses and accessories to The Sparkle Project, which aims to outfit 50 deserving students from the surrounding area. Donations can be dropped off at the mall's Guest Services (lower level, by the Erin Centre Blvd. Entrance) bagged and on hangers until April 30.

Zellers Liquidation Sale
Target is in, Zellers is out. With fancy new big-box stores coming to Canada in less than a year, select Zellers stores have started their liquidation sales this week. Visit the liquidation website for full details.

The North Face Sample Sale
The warmest coats around are going on sale just in time for summer. The North Face's four-day sample sale runs from March 22 to 25 at 1440 Bathurst Street. Bicyclette Boutique Celebrates One Year Anniversary
Bicyclette Boutique is introducing an in-house capsule collection, Bespoke (although not technically bespoke), to celebrate the one year anniversary of its permanent home at 880 Queen West. The dresses are actually really cute, retail for a reasonable $178 each, are designed by Bicyclette, and stitched right here in Toronto. Support this local independent retailer by stopping by the store or visiting them online.
