This Week in Fashion: A new wax bar hits town, Fitzroy Boutique is back, Jessica Jensen has a sample sale and a Diesel shopping event

This Week in Fashion rounds up the week's style news, store openings and closings, pop-up shops, sales and upcoming fashion and design events in Toronto. Find it here every Wednesday morning.

  • Waxon Waxbar Opens. Wax bars are popping up around Toronto faster than unwanted stubble. Waxon is set to open in April and offer quick, comfortable (well, as comfortable as waxing can be), and affordable waxing services for men and women. They use all-natural hard wax - no more wax strips from hell - and offer "bar tabs" for frequent customers.
  • Chasse GardĂŠe Closes. Independent local boutique, Chasee GardĂŠe ("hunting ground") will close its doors on March 30th after almost four years of business. They invite loyal customers and late-to-the-dance first timers alike to pop by, say goodbye, and get between 50 and 80 per cent off everything in store. Brands include Dries Van Noten, Jeffrey Campbell, Label, and Swedish Hasbeens.

  • Fitrzroy Boutique Pop-Up Shop. The seasonal pop-up shop is back from March 24 to April 1. Fitzroy Boutique offers a selection of quality independent labels, mostly from L.A. and Australia. I have my eye on some Blessed are the Meek dresses... no one dare touch them. BYOB Bar and Cocktail Emporium, 972 Queen Street West.
  • LOULOU/FLARE Diesel Shopping Event. Shop LOULOU editor picks from the Diesel spring/summer collection and watch an exclusive-until-it-ends-up-on-every-blog-ever FLARE presentation on how to wear Diesel apparel (one leg at a time, zip without mangling genitalia?). Also receive an additional 20 per cent off purchases. Diesel Flagship Store, 92 Yorkville. More details here.
  • StyleDemocracy Pop-Up Shop
This men's designer pop-up shop will include spring/summer looks by labels like Robert Graham, Napapijri, and John Varvatos. March 28 to April 1, 533 College Street West.

  • Jessica Jensen Sample Sale. Up to 75 per cent off Canadian-designed women's handbags, clutches, and small boxed goods. March 29, 11 a.m.-8 p.m., 639 Queen Street West, Studio 404.
  • Reduced Spring Collections at The Bay. The Bay is offering 30 per cent off select women's spring collections in stores and online until March 29. The sale includes pieces by Jessica Simpson, Moon, Peter Nygard Watercolor Texture, and more.
