Sneak Peak At Fashion Week

I absolutely couldn't resist getting a sneak peak at L'OREAL Fashion Week. A few of the designers have shared their inspiration for this season with us. Here's the inside scoop.

Juma
Who they are: Alia and Jamil Juma
Spring-Summer 2007: Delicate modern design elements can be noted including metal mini-bomber jackets paired with fluid tulip skirts. Delicate flowing silk chiffon printed dresses are shown as well as sexy lyocell jersey sport back tanks with perfect slender pants.
Pick it up at: Pho Pa, The Green Room, Studio Labiri, and Boutique Le Trou
Lights, Camera, Action: Check out Juma Tuesday night at 6:00pm.

David Dixon

He's hardly the new kid on the block. I've gotten the chance to see his show in Vancouver and Toronto. One thing is sure: he always makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Spring-Summer 2007: Is inspired by black and white photographs of my late parents during the early sixties.
Works out of: Streetsville, Ontario
Pick it up at: The St. Regis Room at the Bay, Maxi.La Duchessa, and Andrew, S.
Lights, Camera, Action: Check David out Tuesday night at 8:00pm.

Zoran Dobric
Spring-Summer 2007: Inspiration behind the Spring 2007 collection is my recent trip to Japan. References to Japanese esthetic and philosophy can be felt in the collection such as color harmonies, geometric pattern cutting and drape, traditional kimono embellishment techniques such as silk hand painting, wood block printing, shibori and applique. Traditional techniques are revived, reinvented and applied in a modern couture. Collection is very exotic and sensual.
Works out of: Toronto, Ontario
Pick up the women's stuff at: Boutique Le Trou (940 Queen)
Pick up the men's stuff at: Model Citizen (913 Dundas W.)
Lights, Camera, Action: Check Zoran Dobric out Wednesday night at 6:00pm.

Joeffer Caoc
Spring-Summer 2007: Pictures of you.
Works out of: Toronto, Ontario
Pick it up at: Nicholas Woman, Finishing Touches, Maxi Boutique,
Lights, Camera, Action: Check out Joeffer Caoc on Thursday at 8:00pm.
