Can you be a fashion host?

Tim Blanks is leaving Fashion File. This is depressing news to me. I rather enjoyed his fashion coverage. It was a good balance against the tabloid favour that FT has. 17 years as host has been a long run and I can understand his retirement. Fashion File is taking this opportunity to revamp the look and feel of the show. Part of this is finding a new host. They are putting out a call to all you fashion lovers. Fashion File Host Hunt is the reality show that will ultimately result in the winner becoming the new host of Fashion File.

It's a damn sweet gig if you like being on television. Travelling the world covering fashion, interviewing designers and writing for Fashion Magazine. There will be open casting calls all across the country. Toronto's turn is October 10, 11 & 12 at the CBC building on Front Street. You'll need to sign in between 9:00 a.m. and noon, auditions start at 10:00 a.m. They are looking for knowledgeable and stylish individuals who can write for TV and print. It's best to read all the contest details before auditioning. If you can't make the auditions you can mail in your application.

Good luck fashion savvy Torontonians and remember to do Tim proud.
