Costco Canada issues recall on potentially mouldy treats

Costco Canada shoppers may want to check their recent purchases after a product was included in a nationwide recall.

On Wednesday, Costco Canada published a notice announcing that it's recalling a brand of croissants. In the letter, Quebec-based Distribution M.F.G Inc. said certain lots of the Alfa Croissants are being pulled from shelves "due to the potential presence of mould on the product."

The affected product involves the Alfa Croissants with cocoa cream filling, sold in packs of 24 individually wrapped pieces with lot codes 10726 and 08626. Shoppers who recently purchased the product should check the packaging to see whether one of those lot codes is listed. The product was sold at Costco Business Centre and on the Business Centre's website between June and July 2026.

If you find that you have the recalled product, do not consume, serve, or distribute it. Instead, you can contact Distribution M.F.G Inc. for more information via email or at 1 (877) 644-5558.

"We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask you to please pass this recall notice along to anyone to whom Alfa Croissants may have been given," reads the statement.

Shoppers should also keep an eye out for certain products after several recent recalls.

Last month, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) announced that it's recalling the Cadbury brand Dairy Milk Oreo Candy bar due to undeclared pistachio. According to the notice, there have been reported reactions associated with the consumption of the product.

On Saturday, Hershey's Canada issued a voluntary recall of certain lots of Hershey's Kisses Creamy Milk Chocolate products in 200g and 104g size bags, as some may contain undeclared almonds. The affected lot codes begin with 51G and 51H. The affected products were distributed across Canada between May 6 and July 28, 2026.
