Chocolatier taking over space from shuttered Toronto coffee shop

A Toronto chocolatier is set to take over the space it formerly shared with a coffee shop. 

Although coffee roastery De Mello Coffee has shuttered its store on St. Clair Ave. W., its co-tenant Chocolat De Kat will be taking over the entire space starting this fall. 

The business announced the changes to come on a community Facebook page, noting that the shop would re-open sometime in September and will be temporarily closed until then for some minor touch-ups. 

The female-founded artisan chocolatier is well known for its handmade bon bons that come in a variety of inventive flavours, including key lime pie, coconut caramel, lemon meringue, Vietnamese coffee, tiramisu, and champagne. 

The cafe that used to house both De Mello Coffee and Chocolat de Kat is currently closed.

Until the shop officially reopens, the business announced that you can still purchase its goods from its factory in The Junction Triangle, located at 300 Campbell Ave. Unit 105. 

It's not exactly clear why De Mello Coffee decided to close its coffee counter at this specific store, but the business still boasts a few locations around Toronto, including one in The Well as well as Yonge and Broadway.
