Chocolate being recalled in Ontario because it could cause allergic reaction

Chocolate doesn't always need to be recalled for containing milk (especially if it's milk chocolate, obviously), but it does need to be if it doesn't explicitly state it on the label.

That's what happened with products from Salento Organics sold in Ontario recently.

Everyone knows milk is an allergen for many people, and of course it could definitely be an issue if consumed by anyone who can't have milk products.

The affected products are dark chocolate pineapple bites, dark chocolate dragon fruit bites, organic banana dark chocolate clusters, and organic dark chocolate dipped peanuts.

"The affected products are being recalled from the marketplace because they contain milk which is not declared on the label," reads the government's recall website, which advises people not to "consume recalled products to which you are allergic or sensitive as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction."

You can check to see if you have the recalled products, and if you do, they should be thrown away or returned to the location where they were purchased.

No reported reactions have been associated with the consumption of the products.
