Gusto 101 owners opening jerk chicken restaurant

Gusto 54, the restaurant group behind bustling Portland St. destination Gusto 101 is opening a Jamaican eatery next year.

Chubby's Jamaican Kitchen is slated to pop up at 104 Portland, right across the street from Gusto 101. Along with dine-in service, Chubby's, which is named after a woman who makes a mean jerk chicken, will offer takeout and delivery options for its menu that'll focus on healthy, local ingredients as well as authentic Jamaican flavours.

Chubby's is scheduled to open up some time during summer 2016.

Gusto 54 is also bringing its signature Italian restaurant to Toronto's east side next year with Gusto 501 at 501 King Street East.
