TTC closures this weekend will involve two separate stretches of Line 1 Yonge-University shutting down for maintenance.
The weekend of July 12-13 will bring many events and festivals to the city, though your access to these summer festivities could be hindered by the latest in a series of 38 planned weekend subway closures for 2025.
While far from ideal, this weekend's closures have at least been limited to a pair of single-day shutdowns that will affect both legs of the TTC's busiest transit route.
The transit agency announced that it will shutter service on Line 1 between Eglinton and Finch stations on Saturday, July 12.
Saturday's closure of this approximately 8.5-kilometre portion of subway is chalked up to "planned tunnel maintenance" and will see the gap in service replaced by shuttle buses.
Commuters are being advised of alternative routes to access stations along the closure, including Finch, Sheppard-Yonge and Eglinton.
But that's not all that's in store for transit users this weekend.
The TTC also plans to suspend subway service on Line 1 between St. Clair West and St. Andrew stations on Sunday, July 13, blaming this coming outage on "track work."
Several alternative routes have been posted for any commuters caught up in the outage.
When added up with the Eglinton to Finch closure the day before, Sunday's closure of another 5.5-kilometre stretch brings the total portion of Line 1 closed this coming weekend up to a staggering 14 kilometres, or 18.18 per cent of Toronto's approximately 77-kilometre-long subway network.
