USS Enterprise

Replica of Star Trek Enterprise sold from Toronto front lawn

It looks like the latest voyage of the starship Enterprise is right here in Toronto.

Social media and Trekkies alike were in a frenzy after a replica model of the Star Trek USS Enterprise appeared on the front lawn of a Toronto resident with a "for sale" sign.

Pictures of the 12-foot spacecraft appeared on a number of Star Trek fan pages and Twitter, with many wondering where it came from.

According to some users, the model once hung in a local movie theatre, but was removed due to renovations.

The Enterprise, which had a $1,200 price tag attached, was quickly scooped up by Star Trek fanatic Bill Doern.

Doern took to both Twitter and a Star Trek Facebook fan group to share pictures of his new prized position, which was towed to his house with the help of a large trailer.

While Doern's unsure of his exact plans for the ship, he said in a Facebook comment that "it should be somewhere that other Trekkers and Trekkies can enjoy."

It appears that he's so dedicated to his new project that Doern has created a Facebook page so that fans can follow his journey to restoring the USS Enterprise to its former glory.

Now that it has found a good home, it looks like this starship will live long and prosper.
