Web Mourners and Steve Banks

Catching up on the NY Times today, I came across an article on web mourning. It's an interesting feature on how when tragedy strikes, victim's MySpace profiles become temples for their mourners.

Within moments, my RSS reader is beeping. On Flickr, there's been a flurry of activity amidst my contacts and up comes a photo by Kevin Steele.

The photo (included above) is paired with the story of Steve Banks, a Toronto artist, musician, and writer who lived just above the Caddy. He passed away earlier this year and his words and music are living on through the dedication of his friends and fans, like Kevin, who's words for this local hero are truly heartfelt.
