Cafe Rosarium
Cafe Rosarium is a combination cafe and flower shop that serves hand-crafted pastries and botanically inspired beverages.
Housed in a pastel-hued building at the corner of Yonge and Scollard, Cafe Rosarium has been open since February of 2026.
Store manager Luis explains that the owners wanted to create a space that was both beautiful and relaxing. Considering the cafe's resemblance to a calming greenhouse, it's safe to say that they succeeded.
Fresh flowers decorate the tabletops, while artificial greenery can be found in pots, planters and even wall-mounted trellises.
A florist's counter sits at the back of the shop, allowing customers to order bouquets while waiting for their coffee.
Both sides of the business have proven incredibly popular with customers, with our barista, Autumn, noting that lunchtime line-ups have become the norm.
Luis tells us that there are plans to expand both the menu and the physical space in the coming months. However, nothing is set in stone.
Though superficially similar to many of the other cafes in the area, Cafe Rosarium distinguishes itself with a menu inspired by nature.
Many drinks are garnished with flower petals, and edible flowers feature prominently in the cafe's signature coffees.
Alternative milk options are also available upon request. Whole, skim and lactose-free milk can be added to any drink at no extra charge, while plant-based milks — such as oat, almond and coconut milk — can be purchased for $0.85.
The Flat White ($5.75) is a coffee shop staple, made with espresso and steamed milk.
The Honey Rose Latte ($7.65) is a variation on the standard latte, sweetened with honey and rose-flavoured syrup.
Edible rose petals rest atop a layer of foam, enhancing the appearance of the drink's latte art.
The Tropical Americano ($7.65) is a fresh, fruity beverage that's perfect for summer. Made with mango-passionfruit syrup and garnished with a hibiscus flower, this drink balances the bitterness of a typical americano with the sweetness of tropical fruit.
If that isn't enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, consider trying the Iced Cookie Butter Latte ($7.95). Topped with caramel, cookie crumbs and a full-sized Lotus biscuit, this drink is a cookie lover's dream.
Croissants ($5.75) come in a variety of different flavours, including chocolate, almond and apricot.
The cafe also offers an equally diverse selection of cannolis ($5.95), with flavours such as chocolate, vanilla, hazelnut and pistachio. These pastries are small and curved, easy to eat in a single bite.
Baked cannolis ($6.95), on the other hand, are about twice as large with a more uniform shape. These come in pistachio, hazelnut and ricotta.
Mini cheesecakes ($6.75) are small in size, but big in flavour. My personal favourite was the red velvet flavour, which is topped with raspberries and powdered sugar.
A small floral arrangement and specialty coffee ($19.95) can be purchased as a combo.
For our drink, we went with an iced strawberry matcha latte, whose distinctive green and red ombre compliments the flowers beautifully.
Of course, if you'd rather skip the coffee and go straight for the bouquet, you can get a dozen roses ($97) in a colour of your choice. Other flower arrangements vary by season.
Cafe Rosarium is located at 878 Yonge Street.
