Canadians Show Off Different Hats

Canadian photographer, Jim Allen, is the man behind "Different Hats" - a fundraiser for the Sick Kids Foundation.

This Thursday, February 9th, Jim will be exhibiting over 200 photos of people in (you guessed it) hats. Not just any people though... subjects include Margaret Atwood, Valerie Pringle, Oscar Peterson, John Steinberg, Harry Rosen and many more.

The party appears to be offering more than just philanthropy and a Canuck shmoozefest, though. Live music will be provided (of course!) by the Jimmy Bowskill Band and Toronto jazz group, The Liberty Silver Trio.

There will also be paintings and various 'hats' up for auction. You could actually take home the birds nest that Ms. Atwood is wearing... but try explaining that to your roommates.

If you're interested, you'll need to hurry. RSVP your tickets at www.differenthats.com.

And if you can't swing the $30 right now, you, like me, can see some of the work on the website.
