Some good variety to check out this week in the theatre world:

If you're looking for a 'date play' for you and your significant other check out Defending the Caveman by Rob Becker. Michael Van Osch stars in this one man comedy about the man's perspective of a relationship. Until Nov 26, Diesel Playhouse Theatre

Factory Theatre's Apple by Vern Thiessen is an intense and well acted story. A man, on the verge of a breakup with his wife and indulging in an illustrious affair, finds himself loving his wife again when she gets cancer. The story takes a spiraling twist when her oncologist is the 'other woman'. The performances by Kevin Hanchard and Sarah Orenstein as the married couple are fantastic. A date play for the relationship advanced. Runs to Nov 12

The Caretaker by Harold Pinter. Presented by Soulpepper. Pinter at his very best in a story about two brothers and the hobo that gets in the middle of their odd and varied relationship. Runs to Nov 25 at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts.

Like your theatre a little less formal? Check out Terror by Ann Powell and David Powell. Theatre involving puppetry, tells the story of siblings with fatalistic views on life. Runs to Nov 11 Puppetmongers/Threshold Theater)

I just saw Descent at Theatre Passe Muraille, it was certainly worth seeing.

It's very funny, with a good dose of uncomfortable too. I also enjoyed the acting a great deal.

If you're looking for a stunning overall story then I suspect this isn't the one for you, I found this to be a show about moments. But there were great moments.

Like I said, I think it's well worth the trip/time/money.

The show is running until the 12th.
