Toronto Winter Woofstock 2012 goes to the dogs

Posted by Scott Snider / November 19, 2012

winter woofstock toronto 2012Winter Woofstock 2012 touched down in Toronto at the Direct Energy Centre this past weekend. Once again, for the third annual edition of the event, the place was packed with dog owners, dog product vendors, and of course dogs in all shapes and sizes.

Winter Woofstock is one of the biggest shopping experiences for those seeking gifts for pups this holiday season. While the event featured a Mr. and Ms. Canine Pageant and Wiener Dog Races, one of the biggest draws remained the always interesting costume contest. This year there were some incredibly creative homemade creations along with the more familiar prêt-à-porter designs.

Here are some shots of the four-legged fashionistas as they strutted their stuff for the masses.

Treating dogs like children gives serious dog owners a bad name.

Seriously, maybe it's just time to have kids?

Maybe some people don't take life so seriously and just like to have a bit of fun?

Dear James:

Okay Cesar Milan on roids, calm it down. Like are your so into your dog that you consider it your lover? Also adults get dressed up for Halloween, so according to your logic you be dim.

Let dogs be dogs!
Stop treating them as toys for economic profit.

My dog is the second one down and she loved every minute of the crowds attention and was not unhappy wearing her costume and she won. I was in no way exploiting her and she and my other two danes had a great day spending time with us her owners. WELL DONE ONCE AGAIN WOOFSTOCK!!!!!
Dogs love nothing more then being with thier people for a day!!!

Winter woofstock looks like it was tons of fun, we are sorry we missed it. The Christmas themed costumes look awesome and I’m sure many pet owners stocked up on stocking stuffers for their four legged friends throughout the show! We look forward to seeing everyone again at Summer Woofstock 2013!
