RUNTO

Do you dig Nike's new ads for their RUNTO 10k? They're EVERYWHERE.
Despite the fact the run actually takes place on the Toronto Island, they're playing up the whole neighbourhood thing. On Bay Street I've read banners proclaiming that "Rosedale Runs this town". Or High Park. Whatever. And they've done that station domination thing in the King and Eglinton subway stations with words like "Hey Leaside. Running for a Cinnamon Bun Doesn't Count" - Davisville.
What's a couch potato to think?

I feel pretty similar to the author; a bit conflicted. My band is playing the concert after the race, and it's a big break(hopefully), but I'm also conflicted, being someone that thinks that advertising is getting a little TOO pervasive. I haven't totally crystalized my thoughts on it yet...
