Supporting local economy or racist,... Is it just product's from China or other countries outside of North America.
I am the regular daytime staff, and I am slightly offended by your comment, you are certainly entitled to your opinion but please do not put words into my mouth....I love my job and have for the last 4 years, if I did not I would move on. Not once have I EVER said that I do not like my job or dislike our customers, we truly have the best customers, In regards to the "new guy", please keep in mind that he is new and learning the products. If you have a specific complaint I would be happy to talk with you and help solve your problems, helping and retaining our customers is our number one goal and I do apologize if your needs were not met.
You are correct there is a slight possibility that it was not me but considering we have only 3 staff and I am the only daytimer there is a very good chance that it is in fact me.When something untrue is being said about me, of course I am going to defend myself. Wouldn't you?
On many occasions there are personal conversations that occur in our store, we have good relationships with our customers and sometimes things get personal. If anything was said that offended you, again I apologize. Yes I am a chatty person, if that makes me annoying well so be it, I am who I am and I strive to build good relationships with our customers.
We deal with thousands of products here and sometimes we do not know not everything that is out there...the "new guy" is doing a great job and the customers(well most of them) love him. I rather him say he does not know something, and offer to research rather than lying to save face.
I get it, we are not everybody's cup of tea...but we try our best.
And frankly, in a city where we're all too often confronted with crummy customer service, it's refreshing that someone actually wants to connect with their customers and staff on a more personal level. Helmutt's is the brilliant store it is because of people like Melissa and her staff. And honestly, they don't need customers like you.
You don't understand talking about a coworkers personal life to customers is wrong? I wouldn't want my coworkers to talk about my relationship with my boyfriend to strangers.

When I was referring to personal conversations I meant the ones I have with regular customers..I have been through deaths, births, illness, break ups you name it...customers confide in me. That will not change, but I will be more aware if things that are being said are offensive to others. Telling me I have a warped sense of logic is a bit harsh.
I would not like to lose any customers especially someone who has been shopping here for many years.Keeping our customers is extremely important and something I take very seriously.
Alas I give in, nothing I say will go without a angry post in response. At the end of the day I will continue to the best job I can and hope the same from my co workers.
