This place has really gone downhill. Pre-prepared food is very flat tasting. Quality is very questionable (ie-tibs that are too way short on meat, flavours that are basically just bland and tired). The last 3 times I visited I was told they do not have Gored Gored (even though it appears on the menu with a photo to boot). Finally gave up on the place and tried African Palace across the steet. Pleasently surprised by warm service, cozy atmosphere, great prices, and best of all the best Gored Gored I have ever had! You could taste the freshness of ingredients in the slow cooked Doro Wat, and even just-the-right-amount of gin in the awaze! I would say African Palace is not only as good as Lalibela used to be, but is actually better than it ever was!

Sorry Lalibella, I was a loyal fan who eventually grew tired of your lackluster service and product. I will not be back.

I have visited Lalibela Restaurant for a couple of times, and enjoyed delicious food. The friendly atmosphere and freshness of the food is wonderful…also portion of the food and its price is reasonable. I find it satisfactory. I hope they will keep there repetition.

I had an Ethiopian friend who asked me to try Ethiopian cuisine at this restaurant. We arrived at the restaurant at 7:30pm, waited for more people to come and started ordering at around 8:30pm. Food came to the table at around 9:30pm. I was very starving by then. First few bites are ok and then I realised that the flat bread (injera) has a sour taste in it that I think ruins the flavoured meats and veggies. Not my fave and won't be back. Just my personal taste.

I decided to try this last night, we normally go to one of the other ones across the street and was completely disappointed and it takes a lot to make me not like food. Anyway we ordered for take out and got home and the food meat dishes were as cold as ice and all the veggies tasted like they were cooked days before. We even called to ask about it and they weren't willing to do anything about it. I would not recommend.
