Chiado TorontoChiado is upscale Portuguese dining, with mains such as pan-seared filet of grouper, grilled octopus with sweet pepper salsa, roasted Australian rack of lamb, and specialty dishes with fresh fish flown in from Portugal. Superior choice for seafood dining, though probably not the place to catch Brazil vs. Portugal.

Save your money....this place is not authentic Portuguese and has gone down hill in terms of food quality. Had the lobster risotto and the rice was hard (not at all like a risotto) and the lobster was rubbery. They claim to be Portuguese, but alas, it is nothing but a bland assortment of unimaginative mediterrenean food borrowing on influences from Italy and France. The best upscale Portuguese expereince is in Montreal on Peel St....Ferreira's rocks. When a "Portuguese" restaurant doesn't offer "caldo verde" on their menu (like Chiado)it begets the question "is this authentic"? Not! Chiado is a huge disppointment. I would have rather spent my money on a new pair of shoes come to think of it!

We had our company Christmas dinner there lasr Dec. and were very impressed with the food, service and wine selection. We have passed on our recommendations to several associates who have echoed our sentiments. The wines were exceptional.....this year, fried octopus.

If they fly fresh fish from Portugal, why can't they use Canadian lamb? Simply not logical!!!!!
