TIFF Red Carpet

Radar: Fubar II After-Party, Patsy Cline Birthday Show, Past Life, DVAS + Foxfire + The Magic

PARTY | Fubar II Premiere After-Party
In 2002, a super low budget mocumentary came out called Fubar, which is in my opinion not only the funniest Canadian movie ever made, but one of the funniest movies ever made period. Eight years later, die hard fans have finally gotten what they wanted, a sequel which is premiering tonight as the opening film for Midnight Madness at TIFF. As anyone who has seen it knows, Fubar is all about givn'r and gettin' loaded, so of course an after party hosted by none other than Terry and Deaner is a given. They'll be hosting heavy metal karaoke, as well as bands like Skullfist and Denata. I just hope, at least for tonight, Wrongbar will be selling Pilsner cans ready for shotgunning. Also, Wrongbar is serving until 4AM tonight, GIV'R!
Wrongbar, 1279 Queen St W, 10pm

MUSIC | Patsy Cline Birthday Show
Patsy Cline was a country music singer, who after her untimely death at the age of 30, is still considered one of the most influential female singers of all time. This is definitely true, as The Lulu Lounge is now in their 5th year of celebrating her birthday. Over 15 performers, including Ginger St. James and HOTCHA!, will be performing covers of their favourite Cline songs. And all of this will be backed up an all star band made up of members of Blue Rodeo, By Divine Right, and Luther Wright.
The Lulu Lounge, 1585 Dundas St W, $15, 8:30pm

ART | "Past Life" Opening Reception
There really is nothing cooler than exploring abandoned places, but we all know how dangerous (and sometimes illegal) it can be. So it's best to leave the task to someone else, and then just look at the photographs they've taken. Case in point: Sean Galbraith is hosting his first solo show made up of these pictures. The opening reception is this evening, while the exhibition is open until October 2nd.
Toronto Image Works, 80 Spadina Ave (Suite 80), Free, 5-7pm

MUSIC | DVAS + Foxfire + The Magic
There is so much amazing about the Toronto International Film Festival. The great movies, celebrity spotting and not to mention the parties. The Drake's series of TIFF parties kick off tonight with a night of electronic and dance-pop acts. Montreal's DVAS, Toronto's Foxfire and Guelphs The Magic all perform. And you never know which crazy celebrities might show up!
The Drake Hotel, 1150 Queen ST W, $5, 10pm
