The Blogerati Files: It's All About Me!

This week in the Blogerati Files, It's All About Me!

Describe your blog in 10 words or less.
The title says it all .... It's all about me!

Why did you start your blog? Blogiversary?
I started my blog in July 2005. My friend, Angie, had one and it seemed like fun. And it has been. I used to be into penpalling in a big way and this is kind of the same thing for me.

How long have you lived in Toronto?
I moved to Toronto from Antigonish, NS, in February 1987. It feels like I've been here forever as I love it here!

What's the funniest/strangest thing that has happened to you in Toronto?, Did you blog about it?
When my husband and I got married in July 2002, we had planned a very small wedding at City Hall ... just he and I, my sister and his son. The date we chose turned out to be the day that everyone gathered at City Hall during the Pope's visit. So it was the four of us ... plus a half a million people celebrating our wedding! Alas, none of them gave us presents. Ha!

What are some of the changes in Toronto that you have seen in your lifetime?
Building of the SkyDome/Rogers Centre, so many condos, closing of the Elvis Restaurant on Queen W (the best breakfasts!), revamping of the Gladstone and Drake, closing of the Runnymede Theatre.

What era, day or event in Toronto's history would you like to re-live and why?
I'm a huge fan of Toronto history and love to read how it came to be and things that have happened. I would liked to have experienced Sunnyside in her heyday.

Who's your favourite Torontonian?
My favourite Torontonian is Mike Filey ... I enjoy his books about the history of Toronto.

Has blogging changed you or enhanced a personality trait?
I watch a lot less TV now because I'm spending that time blogging or reading other blogs. Plus I find that I'm looking for things to do so I can scamper home and blog about it.

Fav post from your blog?
My favourite postings are the ones describing stuff I've done with Gord, my sister and/or friends.

Ever met a stranger who already knew you through your blog? How was that?
Not yet but that would be cool. So look for me downtown or in the Queen W/King W 'hoods.

Have you had your 15 minutes yet?
That's not what it's about for me. Even if I were the only one reading my blog, I'd still do it because I enjoy it.

Fav bloggers?
The ones listed on my blogroll under "Who I Check Out".

You have the opportunity to gather with 5 of your regular readers - who are they, where do you meet and what do you talk about?
Just five??!! I'd want everyone there! But if I must choose ... the following have been visiting my blog the longest and comment a lot:

Lisa at "A Textbook-Good Visit"
Isabel at "All About Me"
LeeAnn at "Single Horizons"
Liz at "The Lamentations of a Limping Lizard"
Sarah, my sister, who lives in Halifax

We'd meet at St. Louis' and have lots of wings and drinks. LeeAnn and Liz are friends of mine and we always have lots to talk about. Same with Sarah. I enjoy Lisa and Isabel's blogs so it would be nice to actually meet them and get to know them better.

Have you ever had a question you wanted to ask random people throughout the world?
What do you want to do when you grow up? I'm still trying to figure it out!

If your blog were a food, what food would it be?
Big pot of stew ... a little bit of this and a little bit of that, a bit more of this and a lot more of that.

If you could gather all of the bloggers of the world together into one room and tell them one thing, what would it be?
It's not the destination ... it's the journey.

Anything else you'd like to add...
I collect kitty wine bottles that the LCBO sells around Christmastime. I'm missing the pink and turquoise ones ... does anyone have them (unopened) they want to give to me? Just thought I'd ask!
