Steve Aoki with MSTRKRFT at Tattoo

Steve Aoki with MSTRKRFT
Last Sunday Tattoo Rock Parlour got steamy for a wintery Toronto night with a house-packed full of young party goers who were craving to see DJ Steve Aoki (a.k.a Kid Millionaire) and famous mySpace superstar Uffie.

As I was coming through the doors, I heard the news that Uffie didn't make it to Toronto. This would be the second time she missed an appearance in the city. Luckily local heros MSTRKRFT came to the rescue and were added as the supporting act.

I can just imagine MSTRKRFT, sitting at home, chilling, watching some Planet Earth, and then they get the call from Tattoo. Next thing you know they run into the KRFTMVL and save the party! Yeah!!!

But beyond MSTRKRFT it must be said that under all that Hollywood hipster facade usually associated with Aoki there lies a pretty good DJ. I have to give him some respect for knowing how to turn-on the crowd. It wasn't too long before the dancefloor was transformed into a mosh pit.

I came to the same conclusion when I saw Aoki at a Motorola launch event a few months back, he's an excellent dj and certainly had me dancing my ass off.

tattoo has an excellent dinner menu but there is no indication of when they are actually serving it.

by excellent i mean i have no idea how it actually tastes, but i would like to find out.

anybody think the newer "tattoo parlour chair" looks exactly like the chair in the CiRCA washroom? oh well, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, i guess.
