The Greatest Hit: Fritz Helder And The Phantoms

Fritz Helder and the Phantoms

Last Thursday I had my mind blown by the live show Fritz Helder and The Phantoms put on for their Greatest Hits CD release in the Great Hall. It was unlike anything I have ever witnessed.

It was my first time seeing the band and I spent the entire show next to the catwalk stage, ear pressed to the speaker and my eye glued to my camera view finder caught in a daze of fascination.

Their crazed and adoring fans and the fusion of choreographed dance routines punctuated by catwalk poses and their glamorous neon accented costumes were a photographers' wet dream. Front all that with their sassy, synth-pop rock and you were being shown how 'it's done'.

Highlights (for me), were the back-up dancing crew on the balcony in the Great Hall dressed as a church choir, Diego frenzying the crowd with You Ain't Vogue and Pastel Supernova strutting the stage with her guitar.

It's clear I have officially caught Phantom-mania and I implore you to go out, buy their CD, see them live and infect yourself too.
