Stolen: Our Sunshine

Posted by Jerrold Litwinenko / December 11, 2006

Yesterday I was doing my daily cruising of the Toronto blogosphere and came upon an informative post on Blurty Blurt Blurt detailing a news item that somehow made it under my news radar.

It all makes sense now. I've been kind of grumpy lately, and perhaps you have too. There's a reason for it - our sunshine has been stolen.

It turns out that Ontario has had the gloomiest fall in 29 years and it's making us all SAD!

It makes me want to hop on a plane and head for sunnier destinations, like Len did...

[ - Toronto's very own Len: "Steal My Sunshine" (1999) - runs 4mins - ]

Word on the streets is that a new Len album is nearing completion and release.

I saw Len when I was about 15 years old, about a year or two before this song came out. They weren't that good back then either...

One has to wonder what becomes of one-hit wonders.

Their <a href="http://www.lensite.com/";>official site</a> needs an update.

You know I really liked the song when it first came out until I realized that EVERYTHING good about it was sampled.

Hey Jer! Thanks for mention of my post on BlogTO!

My old roommate went out on a date with the guy from Len, and had a mini online romance with him... I don't remember how it ended?!? I'll have to tell her about the new album- I'm sure she'll go out straight away and buy it! LOL

Brendan Canning sang and played keyboards with LEN on SMS. Thank god for this as Feel Good Lost was funded by Canning's earnings from contributions to Steal My Sunshine.
