NXNE Hip Hop Showcase

Despite its tight space constraints, the Gypsy Co-Op is a cozy spot to host an event. (Their food more than makes up for it). Last night was the hip hop component of NXNE with feature headliner Nicolay, the Dutch hip hop DJ/producer.

Kitchener-based Embassy opened with a tight set, backed by a hard rocking band. Nice stage presence...I was impressed, and that's not easy. I didn't catch the name of their backup band but the mix of hard rock and hip hop was a nice fit.
