Lately I've been vibing off the latest from British singer/songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae. Marketed as pop but really a mix of Blues, R&B and Soul, Rae plays the Mod Club next week (July 4). Picture a funkier, less boring Norah Jones and you've got a sense of Rae's sound. (Shameless plug: I wrote a review of the self-titled debut album here.)

I'm not really feeling the current single "Put Your Records On" but I love tracks like "Trouble Sleeping," "Breathless" and "Like A Star" -- the overall vibe of the album is on point. She's like a mix of Jill Scott and Erykah Badu.
