A love letter to Toronto in 10,000+ images

Posted by Derek Flack / October 19, 2011

Toronto TimelapseDoes Toronto ever look better than when it's presented in timelapse sequences? Maybe I need to get out more, sure — but tributes like the one below tend to draw into question the idea that this city is anything less than beautiful. The latest in a series of high quality timepases comes courtesy of Ryan Emond, whose previous video Day to Night got some well deserved attention earlier this year. It features some stunning neighbourhood and rooftop sequences, reminds us that the SkyDome (yup, SkyDome) is still pretty cool, and just looks slick overall.

Here's some pre-Halloween eye-candy. Enjoy!

The song samples Imogen Heap, but is called "I'm God," and is by Clams Casino. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbvrM6Nj2Ok&;feature=related

The intro to this film is copycat from this footage http://www.blogto.com/arts/2010/10/a_time-lapse_video_of_every_stop_on_the_yus_subway_line/. In fact, many of these shots have already appeared in other timelapse videos that are much more artistic and superior to this. This film is not very original and Ryan should consider doing more unique shots of his own.

Well banks don’t actuadally creadate money, just prmisoes to pay money. These prmisoes are marked up in banks books (deposit liaadbiladiadties), alongadside prmisoes to pay money back to the banks (loan assets). When it comes time to make good of these prmisoes, such as deposit withaddrawal or transadfer of funds to other banks, actual money is used, often called monadeadtary base or high powadered money. That comes from the government.Inside the banks books, there are just bookadkeepading entries of prmisoes. Actual money comes from the govadernadment, the sole issuer ofa0money. Wealth wise, makading of prmisoes nets to zero, but we actuadally use bank liaadbiladiadties like money itself. Any amount of money (from the govadernadment) would cause ceradtain amount of transadacadtions in the econadomy, and bank liaadbiladiadties beheave in samea0way.And if lendading causes asset prices to rise, maybe change in finanadcial wealth nets to zero, but risading prices of real assets ceradtainly wont? Bookadkeepading value of housading for examadple raises in a house price bubble.Another point to wonadder is that limadited liaadbiladity comadpaadnies can take on debt that no indiadvidadual peradson has to count as part of his own liaadbiladiadties, so household’s net worth can raise while comadpaadnies net worth goes down by same amount.

Some really great cityscape shots and very well put together. I feel like it's missing the culture of the city tho.

This is true beauty no doubt of a illusion, I love it!
Yet we are the occupiers of the matrix that feed poverty and war thats what I see.
I think retreat and run for the hills.

Great work one of the best pieces of art

Ugh here we go again! The OCD factor comes out again about Toronto the amazing city; on how we're soo amazing; yayy Toronto! So nauseating. Where's all the construction shots that continue to plague this town?! Toronto is such a joke!
