Urban Nails

urban nails torontoUrban Nails is the undisputed king of manicure salons in a neighbourhood already saturated with options. The modern decor (and free tea or water) add wow factor, but the real appeal lies in the scrupulous cleanliness of the salon and the handiwork of the 15 or so technicians on staff. A basic manicure will run you $15, with options like Shellac, Axxiom and Brisa gel available.

This place should definitely not be on this list. I've been twice. The first time some of my nails were already broken so I didn't blame them so much on how uneven they were but the second time I went back they did a complete hack job on my hands, not an ounce of effort was put into making my nails at all even or uniform. It's been two days and the polish is already chipping away from the edges of my nails. I can't stop thinking about how this is probably the worst manicure I've ever gotten. My mom and sister have both had equally (if not more) disappointing experiences here with Solar Gel fillings.
The cheap prices aren't worth the poor job.

I've only gone to Urban Nails once and I'm not really sure I would again. My biggest concern with nail salons is cleanliness. My foot bath had little hairs floating in it. Quality was pretty good. I think you get what you pay for. My shellac lasted 2 weeks on my hands and 3 weeks on my feet. However the peeled up on the edges and chip. Other than that, they're cheap, friendly, quick and have a good selection. Iffy on the cleanliness though...

Dirty. I got my cuticles butchered and a fungal infection which was extremely unpleasant and painful. Also, the manager was rude to his staff. Disciplining and complaining to them I front of clients. Will not return

I had a really good experience at the salon. The woman doing my nails did a great job and was really careful and made sure she was doing exactly what I wanted. In regards to the other comments, I did not notice anything dirty. I will be going back :)

I went two weeks ago and I honestly was not impressed. Totally overated. It felt like a factory. The place was packed and the lady doing my pedi rushed me out of the chair to have somebody else seat in. I was told to go on the back and was left there to wait for what seemed an awful long time. She came back and told me to paid at the front with her name and took off again. If you are in a rush and want a quick pedi... I guess it is okay.
