Young @ Heart

Regardless of age, life's experiences keep us young or remind us of when we were young. Join group of 27 as we explore music written by a young Elgar and Mozart, and two jazz infused world-premieres by Canadian composer Michael Occhipinti performed by young-at-heart soloists Nadina Mackie Jackson and Guy Few! Interspersed between the music, members of group of 27 and the students of Dixon Hall Music School and Regent Park School of Music will recreate short vignettes of their most precious musical moments with actor Vanessa AvRuskin to create a continuous show of music and memories!

The concert will be held April 25, 2014 at 8 p.m., at Bloor Street United Church, 300 Bloor Street West. And it’s PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN! That means you can pay whatever you like – $1, $10, or even $500 (if you want). Suggested prices are $30 adults, $20 students/seniors and $5 for children under 18.and can be purchased through our website: www.groupof27.com, or with cash at the door.

ABOUT GROUP OF 27:

“Toronto’s All-Star Classical Band” (John Terauds, Musical Toronto), group of 27 is a chamber orchestra comprised of some of Canada’s top musicians, dedicated to exploring the classical repertoire in vibrant, world-class performances. Led by Eric Paetkau, the performances present fresh interpretations of well-known masterworks and challenge listeners with new contemporary music, often commissioned specifically for this unique orchestra. Players include members of the Toronto Symphony, Canadian Opera Company, soloists from across Canada, and professional chamber musicians whose expertise combine for an electrifying experience.

group of 27 is also an experimental orchestra, collaborating with a variety of artists including theatre designers, new music composers, lighting specialists, actors, school-age students, and even willing audience members!
